Day 348 – Cobwebs & the Dress I thought I’d Never Wear

Did I really think I would wear something different for 366 days out of 1 wardrobe and not find cobwebs? Well, I did today!

Almond Baklava With Rose Water..

Ingredients.

  • 1 2/3 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 8 2×1/2-inch strips orange peel
  • 2 teaspoons rose water*

 

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cups coarsely chopped almonds
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice

 

  • 15 fresh phyllo pastry sheets or frozen, thawed

 

  • Plain yogurt

Stir 1 1/3 cups sugar, 1 1/2 cups water, honey, cinnamon sticks, and orange peel in saucepan over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Increase heat; bring to boil. Remove from heat. Mix in rose water. Chill until cold.

Preheat oven to 325°F. Brush 13x9x2-inch metal baking pan with some of melted butter. Mix almonds, ground cinnamon, allspice, and 1/3 cup sugar in medium bowl.

Fold 1 sheet of phyllo in half to form 12×9-inch rectangle. Place folded sheet in prepared pan. Brush with melted butter…

Today I went to jazz.

I wasn’t expecting to get out as early as I did, so I hung out outside of the school for a while. I could have waited for my ride inside, but waiting outside gave me more of an excuse to complain to my parents about how cold it was.

I guess there was a wrestling match going on while I was at the school. I don’t really understand sports in general, being a nonathletic girl, but wrestling makes the least sense to me. A bunch of boys in leotards go at it for as long as possible, shoving body parts into each other, somehow scoring points. I don’t care to watch it, if that isn’t clear enough.

I think a lot of boys do wrestling, thinking that they are super masculine and that they should be feared or whatever. They can pin other guys down…

On 31 October, the long-standing 59-year partnership between Pepsi Co and Thailand’s leading bottling company Serm Suk came to a close.  As a result, Serm Suk launched a surprise cola blitz on the competition with a 300 million baht (US$9.8M) campaign for their own “est Cola”.

Since 2 November est Cola has set up strongholds in most major supermarkets and convenience stores across the nation. Also, in the short span of a month they were able to breach into what is considered by cola military analysts as the key position for victory – fast food soda fountain machines.
